ATHLETIC RESUME

I was a professional athlete that competed in Ironman triathlons, but now time only allows for some ultra distance running races and equestrian jumper shows.  Growing up in Connecticut, competing in a triathlon was the furthest thing from my mind. In fact, with an intense fear of the water, I was quite happy to stay on dry land doing a variety of sports, from track to equestrian.  In 2003, I did a triathlon as a dare and never looked back. I dove into the amateur scene winning back-to-back Overall Female Amateur titles at the 2005 and 2006 Ironman World Championships, breaking the course record each year, and was named Inside Triathlon’s 2006 Amateur Triathlete of the Year. When I turned pro in 2007, my goal was simple: finish every race with a smile. My rookie season included a 2nd place finish at Ironman Lake Placid, an overall win at Cancun 70.3, and a 3rd place finish at Ironman Florida, where I recorded the fastest Ironman bike split of all-time.  At the end of that first year, I was named 2007’s USAT Rookie of the Year for my efforts. In 2008, I joined the LUNA Pro Team, and continued to establish myself in the sport of triathlon by finishing near the top of every race I entered. In 2009, I scored a victory at Ironman Coeur d’Alene, setting a new course record in the process, and a top-10 finish at the Ironman World Championships in Kona.  From there I got into running and went to the Olympic trials for the Marathon in 2012. From Houston, I went on to running even further distances with several 50 milers and the 100 miler called Western States.  The future of my athletic goals is unwritten, but I have several seeds to sow.  No matter where the finish line, I will always do everything I can to get there and still always with a smile on my face.
